When using the Leeb hardness tester, first ensure that the test sample meets the necessary requirements. The surface of the sample should be clean, free of dust, oil, and oxide scales. A grinder can be used to polish the surface locally to expose the metal. The temperature of the sample surface should not be too high, and it must be below 120°C. The optimal testing temperature range is 4°C to 38°C.
USB Charging Portable Hardness Tester for Metal
The Leeb Hardness Tester provides fast, accurate, and non-destructive hardness measurements for common metal materials, making it an essential tool for metal material testing.
- Displays multiple hardness scales, including commonly used Leeb and Rockwell values.
- Large memory capacity with storage for up to 270 data sets, each including average and hardness scale information.
- High measurement accuracy with an error margin of ±0.5% (HLD=800) and indication repeatability of 0.8%.
- Compact and portable design: 140mm x 30mm x 30mm.
- Equipped with an industrial-grade high-brightness OLED display.
- Supports “forged steel (Steel)” material.
- USB charging for convenient power anytime.
Leeb Hardness Tester Description
The USB charging Hardness Tester operates by propelling an impact body of specified mass against a sample surface at a predetermined speed. The hardness value is then calculated based on the ratio of the rebound velocity (VB) to the impact velocity (VA) at a point 1 mm from the surface, using the formula:
HL = 1000 * VB / VA
The LOOTEST LT100HD model employs dual-coil technology, achieving high precision and repeatability with an accuracy of ±6 HL. It also features a built-in direction sensor, enabling precise hardness measurements in all orientations.
